Based on Terry Frei's award-winning book, '77 follows a team that lost the last game of the season — but gave Denver something more durable: a myth about itself that the city is still living inside.
50 Years — 2027. The players who made that run will be in their seventies. The coaches are older. This is the last window to get these people in a room and let them remember out loud.
Denver Now. The city that found itself in 1977 is still living inside that story — and still asking the same questions. Who does a city belong to? What survives when everything changes? The 50th anniversary of the Orange Crush isn't nostalgia. It's a chance to understand how a place decides what it is. The Denver Broncos are building toward that moment too, with the 1977 season back at the center of the franchise story.

The film is built around group conversations in the bars and rooms where '77 was actually lived — intercut with archival football, city politics, redevelopment, protest, and personal memory, drawn from the team and its stakeholders themselves. One person's memory triggering another's, in real time.
